In the first instant, every angel was created. Angels possess intuitive
knowledge and don't think discursively like we do. Upon their creation
they knew who they were and who God is, as well as the task they were
created for. Their test consisted in a single act of faith and fidelity
to God. One movement towards the supreme good. Men, existing in time,
reach their ultimate end in many movements, but not so for angels. They
were made with everything they would ever know. They're not ignorant at
all. Those angels faithful to God were confirmed in grace and granted
the beatific vision, which perfectly conforms a creature's will to God.
Those angels who did not have faith, who rejected God and His plan for
them, were immediately damned, their wills fixed in evil for eternity.
God is the supreme good. The source of all truth, beauty, and love. The
demons knew this and still chose themselves anyway. They literally chose
to inherit nothing but hatred, filth, and horror rather than serve God.
They hate everything including themselves, and they especially hate
humanity because we still have a chance to see God while they never
will. They will seethe in the cosmic sewer forever and because misery
loves company, try to drag humans down with them out of immense hatred
and envy.
Our wills also become fixed after we die. The temporal
realm allows for change, but eternity does not. The demons and the
damned have no hope anymore. Their despair is absolute and eternal. But
as long as you're alive you can still choose God.
How strange that is to negotiate temptation yet also live among what are negative influences brooded by a calamity of the ever-popularized hylic.
But intelligent upkeep of the psyche can find the navigator of knowledge to become unbound to the cruel or the damning, and again ring a bell within which vibrates belief and performance of "The Miracle of the One Thing" not unlike those instructions as by Hermes' Tablet.
